Use Cases & Benefits
- Implements a transparent proxy engine for Linux using Rust and eBPF to intercept and route TCP/UDP traffic with advanced outbound protocols.
- Offers a modular, high-performance proxy with multiple outbound protocols and group policies, plus compatibility with Clash API and native control interfaces.
- Use for deploying a Linux-based transparent proxy to route LAN and host traffic with fine-grained protocol and group-based routing control.
- Use for integrating with web UIs like doona or Clash dashboards to monitor and manage proxy traffic and configurations in real time.
- Use for developing or testing custom eBPF-based network datapaths and proxy features in a Rust environment with extensible configuration syntax.

From the README
An experimental transparent-proxy engine for Linux, written in Rust.
Early alpha, not recommended for production. Expect breaking changes, incomplete features, and limited real-world validation.
honk follows the design of dae's eBPF datapath and configuration syntax, and of sing-box's outbound groups and Clash API. It is an independent implementation, not a port of either project.
There is no FakeIP engine, full mihomo parity, or Windows/macOS datapath.
Download an archive for your platform from Releases. Releases cover x86_64 and aarch64 Linux;
fullsuits most deployments.Every build comes as a static musl binary;
fullalso comes linked against glibc (gnu). Archives withstockin the name use the system allocator instead of mimalloc. Each release's Downloads section lists checksums and provenance.For OpenWrt, use the daeuniverse package feed.
For source builds, follow Build from source. Release binaries embed eBPF; plain
cargo build --releasedoes not enable the real datapath.Follow the startup guide for kernel checks, installation, and connectivity verification. Initial deployment changes network hooks, namespaces, and sysctls; keep an out-of-band management path available.
