Use Cases & Benefits
- A high-level programming language designed for massively parallel execution on GPUs and CPUs without explicit parallelism annotations.
- Enables near-linear scaling with core count by automatically parallelizing code, eliminating the need for manual thread or lock management.
- Use for accelerating compute-intensive algorithms on NVIDIA GPUs leveraging CUDA for massive parallelism.
- Use for developing parallelizable functional programs with higher-order functions and recursion in a Python/Haskell-like syntax.
- Use for experimenting with parallel algorithm design and theorem-proving in a language supporting dependent types and proofs.

From the README
A high-level, massively parallel programming language
Bend offers the feel and features of expressive languages like Python and Haskell. This includes fast object allocations, full support for higher-order functions with closures, unrestricted recursion, and even continuations. Bend scales like CUDA, it runs on massively parallel hardware like GPUs, with nearly linear acceleration based on core count, and without explicit parallelism annotations: no thread creation, locks, mutexes, or atomics. Bend is powered by the HVM2 runtime.
