    Use Cases & Benefits

    • Provides a unified React and TypeScript codebase delivering both web and Electron desktop clients for the OCTO messaging platform with AI agent integration.
    • Enables seamless cross-platform deployment with a single codebase, ensuring consistent UX and first-class AI agent conversation features across browser and desktop.
    • Use for building bilingual (English and Simplified Chinese) chat applications with integrated AI agents and real-time messaging capabilities.
    • Use for developing desktop Electron apps that require native OS features like tray, notifications, and file drop alongside web compatibility.
    • Use for creating extensible AI-enhanced communication tools that leverage WebSocket and REST APIs for real-time collaboration and agent orchestration.

Web & PC (Electron) client for the OCTO messaging platform — one React codebase, two shipped surfaces.

octo-web is the TypeScript / React front-end that talks to octo-server over REST + WebSocket. The same codebase ships two ways: as a browser build (the canonical OCTO chat surface), and as an Electron-packaged desktop PC client.
