    Use Cases & Benefits

    • Provides a policy-driven, cross-platform sandboxed code execution system with layered isolation and containment for running untrusted code securely.
    • Unifies multiple containment backends under a single JSON configuration schema and TypeScript SDK, enabling flexible and consistent sandbox management across Windows, Linux, and macOS.
    • Use for securely executing untrusted plugins or model outputs in isolated environments on diverse operating systems.
    • Use for developing and testing sandbox policies with fine-grained filesystem, network, and UI access controls using the JSON schema and SDK.
    • Use for integrating state-aware sandbox lifecycle management in applications requiring multi-step provisioning, execution, and teardown of isolated sessions.

    From the README

MXC is a sandboxed code execution system for running untrusted code (model output, plugins, tools) on Windows, Linux, and macOS. It provides multiple containment backends — from OS-native process sandboxes to full VMs — behind a unified JSON configuration schema and TypeScript SDK.

MXC ships a native container wrapper plus a TypeScript SDK — see the SDK README for full API documentation.
